MAKKAHThe ambulance teams from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah have succeeded in restoring the pulse of a Bangladeshi Umrah pilgrim, after he fell unconscious in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The ambulance teams found on Sunday the pilgrim, who is in his 50s, lying on the ground unconscious and was unable to breathe. A Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was immediately applied using a shock device until the pulse returned to the normal state. The pilgrim was then transferred to the Haram Emergency Center No. 3 to receive the necessary healthcare.

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority stressed the importance of educating Hajj and Umrah pilgrims about the importance of first aid, and how to deal with cases of fainting and suffocation. The authority also called on everyone to report any emergency cases by calling over the number 997.
