RIYADH —
In an exciting climax to the Second Division league, Neom FC secured their promotion to the First Division with one round to spare, following a nail-biting 3-2 victory over their hosts Al Zulfi.

The match, held at Al Zulfi's stadium, witnessed a significant turnout from both teams' supporters.

Neom increased their points tally to 65, leaving Al Zulfi at 60 points. Despite trailing 2-1 into the latter part of the game, Neom turned the tables, overturning their deficit after initially taking an early lead.

Al Zulfi, a formidable opponent, pushed hard to maintain their direct promotion hopes.

Neom's goals came from Tiago at the 32nd and 79th minutes, while Sultan Al-Sawadi sealed the win with a third goal in the 82nd minute.

Al Zulfi's goals were scored by Goulier and Mashari Al-Anzi, in a match characterized by intense competition and skillfully managed by international referee Mohammed Al-Houish.

This victory ensures Neom's place alongside Al Jubail, who had secured their promotion in the previous round. The teams are set to face off in the final match.

Meanwhile, Al Zulfi will likely play against Al Diriyah for the third and fourth positions, with the winner also advancing to the First Division next season.

Neom Sports Club, originally founded as Al Suqor Club in 1965 in Tabuk as a football club, has contributed several players to the national team, including Fahd Abu Jaber, Saud Al Khaibari, and Mohammed Al Shamrani.

Now, Neom Sports Club boasts 13 different sports, offering participation opportunities for men, women, and children of all ages.

In December last year, Neom announced the rebranding of Al Suqor Sports Club to Neom Sports Club, following the club's acquisition.

his move is part of the sports club investment and privatization project announced by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman, aiming to develop an effective sports sector and encourage private sector participation.
