ISLAMABAD —
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman was honored with Pakistan's highest civilian award, “Nishan-e-Pakistan” by President Asif Ali Zardari, during his official visit to Islamabad, directed by the leadership.

The award ceremony took place in a special event at the President's Palace in Islamabad, attended by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, and other dignitaries.

Prince Khalid's visit coincided with the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, celebrated annually on March 23, where he witnessed the military parade as a guest of honor.

The conferment of the “Nishan-e-Pakistan” award to the Saudi defense minister was in recognition of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in the fight against terrorism, the alignment of visions between the two countries, and the bilateral relations and strategic partnership contributing significantly to the region's security and stability.

Under the guidance of the leadership, Prince Khalid, along with his delegation, arrived in Islamabad for an official visit on Saturday.

Upon arrival at PAF Base Nur Khan, he was welcomed by Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and other senior officials.

During his visit, Prince Khalid is expected to engage in discussions to review bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and discuss regional and international developments, along with topics of mutual interest.
