RIYADH — A meeting of the Saudi Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) reviewed the progress achieved in implementing economic diversification policies. A number of reports and topics on its agenda were reviewed and the necessary decisions were taken and recommendations were made during the council’s meeting held via video conference.
The agenda of the meeting included a presentation by the Ministry of Economy and Planning regarding local and international economic developments, such as the detailed analysis of the latest developments in economic indicators, and an assessment of the major challenges and expectations facing the global economy.
The presentation included a detailed look at the performance of the national economy, highlighting the positive progress observed in economic diversification policies and major investments that contribute to enabling the national economy to meet the challenges and achieve sustainable development in all sectors. This comes as a confirmation of the success in implementing the programs and objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 that aims to achieve a prosperous economy by diversifying growth engines.
The council discussed the presentation made by the National Center for Public Agencies Performance Measurement (Adaa) regarding the performance of public agencies for the fourth quarter of 2023 in achieving their goals and indices. The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the performance of public agencies and the activities that were implemented in the areas of measurement and empowerment, which resulted in supporting more than 27 government agencies through conducting 150 workshops, reviewing 300 documents, and issuing 81 performance reports.
The presentation also included an analysis of the performance of national strategies and a plan for measuring and following them up, in addition to future aspirations regarding measuring the performance of government agencies.
