Key development and security topics figure in annual meeting of emirs of regions

JEDDAH — Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif chaired the 31st annual meeting of the emirs of the Saudi provinces in Jeddah on Tuesday. The meeting discussed several key development and security issues pertaining to the regions including the support to digital transformation in the emirates, employing artificial intelligence to enhance its tools to follow up on events and support development opportunities, and strengthening the role of the emirates in maintaining security and stability

At the outset of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz and the emirs of the regions thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the utmost keenness and continuous support they give to the Ministry of Interior, as well as to the emirates of the regions, and various government entities.

The minister hailed the generous directives from the leadership to provide everything that contributes to serving the guests of God during the holy month of Ramadan, and the efforts made by all the concerned parties to implement the leadership’s directives.

During the meeting, a number of reports and working papers were reviewed, which included supporting digital transformation in the emirates of the regions, employing artificial intelligence to enhance its tools to follow up on events and support development opportunities, enhancing the opportunities and capabilities of the non-profit sector. These also included active participation in boosting vegetation cover development, and programs and activities that help environmental sustainability within the Saudi Green Initiative.

The meeting also discussed a number of topics aimed at strengthening the role of the emirates of the regions in maintaining security and stability, achieving comprehensive and sustainable development and serving the nation, citizens, expatriates and visitors.

The meeting adopted a number of recommendations, which will in turn, will be submitted to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
