MAKKAH — The Haramain High-Speed Railway has played a pivotal role in transporting over 1.3 million visitors and Umrah performers between Madinah and Makkah, during the holy month of Ramadan.

This rail service, crucial for facilitating religious tourism, operates continuous trips, connecting individuals with the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque for Umrah rituals and prayers.

Spanning 450 km and capable of reaching speeds up to 300 km/hour, the Haramain High-Speed Railway is the Middle East's largest transportation project, designed specifically to serve the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques throughout the year, particularly during the Umrah and Hajj seasons.

The railway features five strategically located stations, including Makkah, Madinah, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Rabigh, ensuring accessible travel for visitors, citizens, and residents.

The electrically operated trains adhere to the highest security and safety standards, offering an emission-free, comfortable, and efficient journey across the holy cities.

Passenger services are comprehensive, ensuring a seamless experience that includes guidance to the waiting areas and platforms, security arrangements, luggage safety, and support for passengers with disabilities.

Additionally, the train offers food services and secure electronic payment options, enhancing the travel experience for those journeying between the holy cities during Ramadan.
