ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari held separate talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and the high-level Saudi delegation accompanying him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif and Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed ways to further enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation in all fields. Their talks also focused on intensifying bilateral and multilateral coordination on issues of mutual concern. The two leaders discussed aspects of consolidating economic and development cooperation. Major developments on the international arena and the efforts made to address them also figured in their talks.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari received Prince Faisal bin Farhan at the Pakistani presidential headquarters in Islamabad on Tuesday. During the meeting, they reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples. The two leaders discussed the ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations in various fields, in addition to developing economic and development cooperation and pushing it towards broader horizons in order to achieve aspirations for greater well-being and prosperity.

Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to the Pakistan president and their wishes of happiness for him, as well as prosperity for the Pakistani people.

Members of the accompanying Saudi delegation included Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, Advisor to the Royal Court Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, Assistant Minister of Investment Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Maliki, and a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Energy, the Public Investment Fund, and the Saudi Fund for Development.
