Saudi FM calls upon Sudanese leaders to stop fighting

RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan made phone calls with Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, chairman of the Sovereignty Council and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Sudan, and Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commander of the Rapid Support Forces of Sudan.

During the calls, the foreign minister discussed with the Sudanese leaders the latest developments in the country and their repercussions on the Sudanese people. Prince Faisal stressed the importance of working to protect Sudan and its people from further destruction and worsening of the difficult humanitarian conditions.

The foreign minister also underscored the necessity of giving priority to the interests of the Sudanese people, and stopping the fighting to protect Sudan’s state institutions and to ensure its safety.
