RIYADH — The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that no new cases of food poisoning have been reported in the past five days following the recent incident.

The Ministry noted that a total of 75 cases were identified, comprising 69 Saudi nationals and six residents.

The Ministry confirmed that 50 individuals were diagnosed with botulism food poisoning, of which 43 have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Among the remaining cases, 11 are in regular hospital rooms, 20 are in intensive care, and there has been one fatality.

The Ministry clarified that all cases were linked to a single food source, and collaborative efforts by relevant government agencies have successfully controlled the incident.

The Ministry continues to monitor and provide care to the hospitalized patients, and it expressed its wishes for their swift recovery.

The statement also urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading false rumors, especially as the relevant authorities have taken immediate actions to prevent a recurrence.
