Saudi AI model ALLaM joins IBM's watsonx platform, bolsters Arabic language capabilities

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) announced the inclusion of its Arabic text generation model, ALLaM, in the IBM watsonx platform during the IBM Think event in Boston.

Recognized as one of the leading models globally, ALLaM's selection highlights the advanced technical capabilities of Saudi-developed AI technology. The model underwent rigorous international standard testing in its experimental phase to ensure it competes effectively on the global stage.

Currently available in a trial version on watsonx, ALLaM is poised for further professional evaluation, which will accelerate the full release of its capabilities and establish it as a competitive force in Arabic language generation. This initiative aligns with SDAIA's mission to empower the Arabic language on a global scale by enriching Arabic content across various fields and fostering cultural diversity through AI technologies.

The collaboration with IBM marks a significant milestone in advancing Arabic language applications within generative AI, reflecting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to position the Kingdom as a leader in advanced technologies.

ALLaM, the first Saudi-developed AI system designed to answer inquiries in Arabic, utilizes a vast dataset and cutting-edge technology to provide comprehensive responses in both text and audio formats.
