Saudi Crown Prince will not attend G7 summit due to Hajj supervision

JEDDAH — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman informed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of his inability to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit, to be hosted by Italy on June 14.

In a cable of thanks sent to Meloni, the Crown Prince expressed his regret for not being able to attend the summit due to his commitments related to overseeing the operation of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, which will begin on June 14.

In the cable, the Crown Prince thanked the Italian prime minister for the invitation extended to him to participate in the communication session of the G7 summit. Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed the depth of relations between Saudi Arabia and Italy. He also wished every success for the summit
