Interior minister attributes success of Hajj to guidance of King Salman and Crown Prince

MAKKAHMinister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif attributed the success of this year’s Hajj season to the direct supervision and wise guidance of the Saudi leadership, headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. He said this in separate cables of congratulations sent to King Salman and the Crown Prince on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and the success of the Hajj Season 2024.

In his cable to the King, Prince Abdulaziz said that the implementation of this year’s Hajj plan was marked by cooperation and integration among various parties and agencies responsible for overseeing the Hajj mission. These parties effectively executed all plans related to security, prevention, organization, health, services, and traffic management.

“I consider greatly the success that has been achieved for this year’s Hajj season, thanks to God, then thanks to your generous support, your kind care, your rational guidance, and the dedication of your sons, the security men, and all their colleagues from the civil, military, and civil sectors participating in performing this great duty, through spreading out in all Hajj areas and the leading roads, by taking care of the service of the guests of the God, and prevent those who attempt to hamper the security and safety of pilgrims in accordance with security, preventive, and organizational plans, with integrated preparation and implementation, and comprehensive facilities, services, and care in various aspects.

The minister affirmed that the Makkah Route Initiative has also made significant strides in facilitating the arrival of pilgrims from their respective countries. This initiative has been achieved by implementing advanced entry ports in seven countries and implementing smart paths and electronic entry gates at entry ports in the Kingdom.

“This has enabled pilgrims to travel among Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites and influx to the Two Holy Mosques using the most modern transportation methods in a safe and stable atmosphere. Their efforts were tailored to accommodate the significant number of pilgrims, totaling 1,833,164, with ensuring the provision of top-quality services that enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind,” the minister said while noting that pilgrims' health conditions are free of epidemic diseases.

In his cable to the Crown Prince, the minister of interior said that the implementation of this year's Hajj plan was marked by cooperation and integration among various parties responsible for overseeing the Hajj mission. These parties effectively executed all plans related to security, prevention, organization, health, services, and traffic management.

Their efforts were instrumental in ensuring the provision of top-quality services that enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind. “Thanks to God, and then to the vigilance of your men from various security and military agencies deployed in all the places frequented by pilgrims. The security situation was stable and did not witness the occurrence of any incidents affecting the security of pilgrims or disrupting the peace of Hajj,” Prince Abdulaziz said in the cable.

He noted that the health conditions of the pilgrims were also reassuring, and there were not any epidemic cases reported. “All the consumer goods and food that the pilgrims needed were available, and public services were provided, with maintaining cleanliness, electricity and water, with comprehensive follow-up by the concerned authorities to ensure their continuity and to achieve comfort for the pilgrims,” the minister added in the cable.
