RIYADH — The city of Riyadh is preparing to be a global destination for e-sports fans, as fans will follow the competitions of their favorite players and clubs across 22 tournaments in the most famous games to win financial prizes amounting to more than 60 million dollars, and this with the launch of the e-sports World Cup.

This value is the highest total prize money in the history of e-sports, as visitors will enjoy thousands of events, activities and interactive shows that suit all ages, while presenting a mix of sports, entertainment, educational, cultural and creative aspects, making Riyadh the capital of gaming and tourism during this summer.

Prince Faisal bin Sultan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation, explained that the Electronic Sports World Cup achieves a vision aimed at bringing together electronic sports professionals, fans and publishers in a scene that pushes electronic sports toward a path full of promising opportunities for all.

During the opening of the events and activities of the Electronic Sports World Cup, he confirmed that this event, which will be held over 8 weeks from July 3 to August 25, 2024, is receiving the attention of the global gaming and electronic sports community, looking forward to seeing the extent of the impact of this year’s first edition in the coming weeks.

CEO of the E-Sports World Cup Foundation, Ralph Reichert, affirmed that the E-Sports World Cup is an exceptional celebration that unites the international community through gaming and E-sports, achieves a leap in the e-Sports industry and drives growth and sustainability across the entire sector system.

Faisal bin Hamran, CEO of E-Sports at the World Cup Foundation, explained that the number of players in the world today has reached 3.4 billion players.
