RIYADH
— The Woolf Institute at the University of Cambridge hosted Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, for an important meeting and a subsequent working dinner focusing on the provisions of the Charter of Makkah and other significant international topics.

During the interaction, Dr. Al-Issa highlighted the MWL's dedication to addressing global challenges such as migration, climate change, hate speech, women empowerment, and raising awareness of Islamic teachings among Muslim youths and followers of other faiths. He emphasized the MWL's commitment to ongoing dialogue with everyone, maintaining a stance of complete impartiality.

"We do not exclude any aspect of dialogue for those eager to learn the truth," stated Dr. Al-Issa. He added, "Anyone who reaches out to the MWL earnestly will find us responsive, as taught by the teachings of our noble Prophet (PBUH)."

Dr. Al-Issa reiterated that the MWL steers clear of political meddling, focusing instead on elucidating the public about the truth of Islam through its extensive network and Islamic scholars who endorsed the Charter of Makkah. These efforts are aimed at disseminating the charter's message worldwide, especially to those possessing misconceptions or incomplete information about Islam.

Dr. Al-Issa noted, "The MWL strives, through its impactful initiatives and programs, to foster global peace and enhance harmony among national communities, steering clear of the conflicts and clashes typical of politics or competing civilizations."

He emphasized that the MWL's comments on political matters stem directly from its fundamental religious values that advocate justice and peace.

He concluded by citing the substantial global participation in the MWL's initiative — welcomed by the United Nations Secretariat and hosted at its headquarters in New York — aimed at building bridges between the East and West.
