Saudi Arabia welcomes UN special envoy's statement on agreement to reduce escalation in Yemen

RIYADH
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the statement issued by the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen. Hans Grundberg, regarding the agreement of the Yemeni government and Ansar Allah Houthis on measures to reduce escalation with regard to the banking sector and Yemeni Airlines. The Kingdom also expressed its support to Grundberg for his efforts aimed at achieving peace and security for Yemen and its people.

Saudi Arabia affirmed its continued support for Yemen, its government and the brotherly people of the country, and its constant keenness to encourage efforts to reduce the escalation and maintain calm. The ministry expressed its aspiration that this agreement will contribute to Yemeni parties sitting at the dialogue table under the auspices of the office of UN Special Envoy for Yemen to discuss all economic and humanitarian issues, including a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis within the framework of the road map to support the peace process in Yemen.
