RIYADH —
Saudi teams continue preparations for the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will officially open in Paris on Friday. Saudi Arabia will participate with 10 athletes in four events: show jumping, taekwondo, athletics, and swimming.

The Saudi show jumping team in both individual and team events will be represented by riders Ramzi Al-Duhami, Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, Khaled Al-Mobty, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi. The taekwondo team will feature Dunia Abu Talib in the 49 kg category.

The athletics team includes shot putter Mohammed Tolu, pole vaulter Hussein Al-Hizam, sprinter Hiba Malim in the 100m race, swimmer Mashail Al-Ayed in the 200m freestyle, and swimmer Zaid Al-Sarraj in the 100m freestyle.

The Saudi teams began preparations for "Paris 2024" with several training camps. The show jumping team members are training in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and will arrive in Paris on July 30.

Dunia Abu Talib has been in training camps since her historic qualification for the Olympics as the first Saudi female to qualify through the preliminary rounds. Her training began in Riyadh, followed by Antalya, Turkey. She is currently training in Tunisia and is expected to arrive in Paris on August 3.

Athlete Mohammed Tolu is training in Lisbon, Portugal, and will join the Saudi team camp in Normandy, France, on Thursday for four days before entering the athletes' village in Paris.

Following their qualification for the French Olympics earlier this July, athletes Hussein Al-Hizam and Hiba Malim are training in the Normandy camp and will enter the athletes' village at the end of July.

Swimmers Mashael Al-Ayed and Zaid Al-Sarraj will be the first to arrive at the athletes' village on Thursday from the Saudi team camp in Normandy.
