PARIS —
Saudi pole vaulter Hussain Al-Hizam bid farewell to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after being eliminated in the qualifying round on Saturday.

Competing in Group B, Al-Hizam made three unsuccessful attempts to clear a height of 5.40m.

The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee explained that the required height to advance to the final round was 5.80m, or being among the top 12 performers, which Al-Hizam did not achieve.

Additionally, Saudi shot putter Mohammed Tolu exited the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday after failing to meet the qualifying standard of 21.35 meters in the shot put qualifiers.

Tolu's first attempt reached 20.63 meters, his second attempt was a foul, and his third and final throw measured 20.65 meters, which was insufficient to advance to the final.

Tolu placed 15th out of 31 participants, missing the top 12 qualifying spots.
