GENEVA —Saudi Arabia welcomed the decision taken by the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to assign the Humanitarian Aid Commission to open the Adre crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to the city of El Fasher in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

The Kingdom appreciated the positive impact of this step in addressing humanitarian needs, as well as in facilitating the delivery of aid, and securing humanitarian workers.

In this context, the Saudi delegation to the Geneva Conference held talks with the UN Secretary General’s envoy and representatives of the African Union to discuss providing emergency aid under a joint mechanism.
