VENICE
The Saudi Film Commission will take part in the 81st Venice International Film Festival, scheduled from August 28 to September 7, 2024, in Venice, Italy.

As one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals globally, the Venice Film Festival is a key event within the Venice Biennale and is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

Through this participation, the Film Commission aims to reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a global cinema destination, strengthen international relations, and showcase the Kingdom's rich cultural and cinematic heritage.

The Commission also seeks to enhance the presence of Saudi cinema in international forums, spotlight significant archival efforts, and underscore the importance of the National Film Archive.

As part of its activities at the festival, the Commission will organize a roundtable event titled "Challenges Facing Modern and Emerging Archives in Particular."

The Film Commission's archive management team will engage in a meaningful dialogue on these challenges, with the participation of Saudi film sector partners, fostering cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange.

The Commission's participation in the Venice Film Festival 2024 is part of its broader strategy to engage in international film festivals, contribute to the development of the Saudi film industry, empower Saudi talents, and promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge, thereby solidifying Saudi Arabia's presence on the global film map.
