Civil Defense warns of thunderstorms and heavy rain in several regions

RIYADH —
The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning about the persistence of thunderstorms across several regions of Saudi Arabia, expected to last from Friday until next Tuesday.

The Makkah region is forecast to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, with potential flash floods, hail, and strong downdrafts.

In Riyadh, light to moderate rain accompanied by strong downdrafts is expected.

Regions including Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran are anticipated to face moderate to heavy rain, while Hail, Qassim, and the Eastern region may experience lighter rainfall.

The directorate urges citizens and residents to exercise caution, avoid areas prone to flooding, and follow safety guidelines and instructions issued through various media channels.
