RIYADH Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif reiterated on Sunday the government’s determination to combat against all forms of narcotics and take stern action against those involved in drug trafficking crimes. He said this while meeting with Director General of the Narcotics Control Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Qarni and a number of commanders of the directorate in the Riyadh region.

During the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to the Narcotics Control staff. He stressed that with the directives and support of the wise leadership, security efforts will continue in all regions of the Kingdom to combat attempts to smuggle and promote drugs and track down those involved in them, and deal with them with all firmness and strength.

Prince Abdulaziz listened to a presentation made by members of the Narcotics Control Department in the Riyadh region on the most important seizures and proactive security operations carried out by the department during the past period.

The minister inaugurated the Rased Center for Cybersecurity Operations at the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, which aims to protect the General Directorate of Narcotics Control’s network, systems, devices, programs and applications from potential digital threats, as the center operates around the clock through qualified national cadres specialized in this field.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Nasser Al-Daoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Batal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs Mohammed Al-Muhanna, Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami, and Director General of the Minister’s Office for Studies and Research Maj. Gen. Khalid Al-Arawan.
