Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the three-day event, which saw the participation of over 300 aviation and aerospace companies from more than 100 countries.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior Saudi officials, including General Authority of Civil Aviation President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, Deputy Commander of the Air Force Maj. Gen. Talal Al-Ghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Hussaini, and Military Attaché to Egypt Brig. Gen. Abdul Karim Al-Sudais.

El-Sisi and other high ranking officials toured the smart exhibition hall, which includes the pavilions and exhibits of national and international aircraft and space industry manufacturers participating in the exhibition, including the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) pavilion. During the tour, they listened to an explanation of a group of solutions and systems provided by SAMI, including the facility protection system using artificial intelligence and drones, in addition to a presentation on the high capabilities in the field of design, development, production, technical support, maintenance, and manufacturing parts of the aircraft (F15 -SA).

The airshow began with a performance by the Egyptian Air Force aerobatic team, the Silver Stars, followed by a solo display of a Rafale jet. The show included a solo air show by the Saudi Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft through the performance of several maneuvers characterized by mastery and precision.

The air show, the first of its kind in Egypt and the largest in Africa and the Middle East, aims to advance industrialization, digitalization, and globalization within the defense, space, and commercial aviation sectors across these regions.
