NEOM — The NEOM Beach Games will return this November after an exciting summer of Olympic events, promising an even more exciting line-up of athletes and competitive events.
Olympic gold medalists Cassandra Beaugrande and Alex Yee (triathlete), Worthy de Jong (3x3 basketball player) and Federic Leonardo (speed climber) will be among the 1,000-plus athletes, coaches and team officials who will descend on NEOM for six dynamic sporting events starting on November 3.
NEOM Open Water Swimming World Cup, the sixth sport at the NEOM Beach Games 2024, is a new event this year.
The championship, which concludes the latest edition of the NEOM Beach Games, will host the world’s best open-water swimming athletes in the Red Sea.
NEOM and sports rights holders continue to work with national federations to support grassroots initiatives, identify Saudi talent, provide opportunities to compete in NEOM, and reinforce NEOM’s commitment to developing athletes in Saudi Arabia.
Jan Paterson, Managing Director of Sport at NEOM, said: “It is hugely exciting to be hosting the NEOM Beach Games for its third edition, and welcoming a number of athletes and medallists from the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“With the addition of the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup NEOM and two compact venues at NEOM Bay and Bajdah Desert, we are looking forward to offering an exciting experience for athletes and spectators alike and helping to establish NEOM as a destination for global sports amongst our natural sporting landscapes,” he added.
