NEW YORK —
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua, in New York to discuss significant global digital initiatives.

The meeting focused on the Global Digital Charter and the Declarations of the Charter of the Future, exploring potential partnerships in space and enhancing Saudi capabilities to support the United Nations' efforts both regionally and internationally.

The discussion emphasized the importance of sustainable development goals and the role of advisors and researchers within the Supreme Advisory Councils.

Additionally, they addressed the latest developments regarding the upcoming Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and reached an agreement on the Riyadh Declaration, which is set to be announced at IGF 2024.

The meeting underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to playing an effective role in assisting developing countries with digital transformation, highlighting its success in implementing high standards of e-government.
