KHOBAR —
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal against Al Orobah marked his first for Al Qadsiah, a noteworthy moment for both the player and coach Gonzales.

The striker's signing was one of the major transfers for Al Qadsiah, who has been making headlines after returning to the Saudi Pro League following the club's acquisition by Saudi Aramco.

Fans warmly welcomed Aubameyang as he quickly left the pitch for the locker room, where he received congratulations from teammates.

In the post-match press conference, coach Gonzales expressed his satisfaction with Aubameyang’s first goal for the team.

He stated, “We showed we have a real team, as reflected in the goal scored by Aubameyang. His teammates' joy represents our collective spirit.”

Al Qadsiah progressed to the Round of 16 in the King’s Cup, and the coach is optimistic about advancing further in the knockout format.

Gonzales hopes that Aubameyang will lead the team’s attack for their next match against Al Ahli on Friday, which is part of the fifth round of the league.

Aubameyang has played four league matches without scoring, unlike his teammate Julián Quiñones, who has been impressive. Quiñones was sent off in the previous match against Al Okhdoud, which will keep him from participating against Al Ahli. The team aims to recover after a loss to Al Shabab and a draw with Al Okhdoud, resulting in a drop in the league standings after a strong start.

Aubameyang, a prominent striker in major leagues, has scored over 300 career goals with top clubs such as AC Milan, Arsenal, Lille, Saint-Étienne, and Borussia Dortmund, as well as for the Gabon national team.

The negotiations to bring Aubameyang to Al Qadsiah faced challenges, but his decision to join the Saudi league has pleased many fans following the increasingly competitive nature of Saudi football.
