RIYADH —
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Badr Al-Abdalaty stressed the need for Lebanon to assert full sovereignty over its territory and carry out its responsibilities through its official institutions.

In a phone call on Friday, the two ministers discussed the situation in Lebanon and the escalating Israeli actions in the region. Both ministers expressed deep concern over Israel's increasing aggression in Lebanon and reaffirmed their full solidarity with the Lebanese people during this crisis.

The ministers also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and push for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza.

They emphasized the ongoing coordination between Saudi Arabia and Egypt to address the dangers facing the Arab region as a result of the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese populations.
