RIYADH —
Saudi Minister of Culture Badr bin Farhan met with the new Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Zhang Hua, at the Ministry of Culture headquarters in Diriyah on Sunday.

The minister welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment, expressing hope that the meeting would strengthen cultural relations between the two friendly nations.

He also thanked China for choosing Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair last June.

Minister Badr highlighted the outcomes of his visit to China last March, during which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture and China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cultural cooperation and exchange to benefit the peoples of both countries.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Hamed Fayez and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for International Cultural Relations, Eng. Fahd Al-Kanaan.
