Saudi Gazette report

AMMAN — Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Al-Sudairi presented on Tuesday a check to UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini as a contribution from Saudi Arabia to support programs and operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Al-Sudairi emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and enabling UNRWA to fulfill its responsibilities toward Palestinian refugees.

Lazzarini expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that it will enable UNRWA to continue providing essential services, including education and healthcare, to vulnerable Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

He highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where over 650,000 children are out of school and suffering psychological trauma. Lazzarini also expressed concern about potential Israeli legislation targeting UNRWA and the deteriorating conditions in Gaza following the recent Israeli aggression.

In a related development, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in cooperation with the UNRWA, has distributed shelter kits in Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, in the Gaza Strip. This assistance is part of the Kingdom's continued support for the Palestinian people, and its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance, through KSrelief, to people in need throughout the world.
