RIYADH The Culinary Arts Commission has launched the first edition of “Saudi Elite Chefs” competition, which is designed to support and empower talented Saudi chefs, fostering a spirit of competition among the nation’s top culinary professionals. Registration for participating in the competition began on Sunday, Oct. 20.

The competition targets professional chefs, who are highly skilled in the culinary arts, as participants will compete in preparing distinctive dishes based on the use of local ingredients.

The competition will include two main categories: main dishes and desserts, allowing participants to choose the category that best suits their skills.

The competition will be subject to strict judging criteria, including taste, presentation and technical skills, in addition to commitment to the theme of sustainability in cooking, which enhances the importance of using local resources in creative and responsible ways.

It will go through several stages, starting with registration and qualification, which will be between October 20 and 31, followed by announcement of the final qualification results between October 31 and November 10. After that, a preparatory workshop will be organized from November 20 to 24, concluding with the final competition, which will be held on November 25 and 26 at the Saudi Horeca exhibition.

Participants in the competition will enjoy many benefits, including priority entry into prestigious culinary competitions, receiving an elite chef medal, in addition to special invitations to participate in forums and discussions related to the culinary arts.

This competition reflects the Culinary Arts Commission’s commitment to supporting and empowering Saudi chefs and showcasing their talents on the local and international scene, while promoting the concepts of sustainability and the use of local ingredients to enhance awareness of the culinary arts culture in Saudi Arabia.
