RIYADH — Al Hilal has announced that Brazilian star Neymar has sustained a hamstring tear following an MRI conducted on Wednesday.
He will require a treatment and rehabilitation program lasting between four to six weeks.
Neymar participated in the previous match against Iranian club Esteghlal, coming on as a substitute in the 58th minute. However, he was replaced just three minutes before the end of regulation time due to muscle discomfort.
As a result of this injury, Neymar will miss Al Hilal's next two matches in the AFC Champions League Elite.
The first match is against Qatari team Al Sadd on November 26, followed by a game against Al Gharafa on December 3. However, his absence will not impact the team in local competitions, as Neymar was not registered for domestic matches.
In another update, Portuguese player Ruben Neves will depart for Finland on Thursday morning to assess his injury under the supervision of Dr. Lauri Lempainen, in coordination with the team’s Spanish doctor, Juan Jiménez.
Neves previously suffered a knee injury during his team’s match against UAE club Al Ain on October 21, after which he announced the need for a treatment and rehabilitation program lasting approximately three to four weeks.
