RIYADH — Minister of the National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar inaugurated on Sunday the third edition of the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit (RGMBS) 2024 in Riyadh. The three-day summit, which is being held under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, underscores the Kingdom's commitment to advancing medical biotechnology.
The summit is organized by the Health Affairs Department at the Ministry of the National Guard in partnership with the Ministry of Investment. Bandar AlKnawy, CEO of the Ministry of National Guard's Health Affairs, noted that the Crown Prince's patronage and the inauguration of the summit by the Minister of the National Guard reflect the leadership's support for the National Biotechnology Strategy, which aims for self-sufficiency and socioeconomic impact. This year, the summit focuses on strategic priorities, including vaccine development, bio-manufacturing, genome research, and agricultural biotechnology.
The summit, running from November 10 to 12, features an exhibition with leading health, technology, industry, and investment organizations. Key sessions include the "Saudi Forum for Investment in Biotechnology," which aims to showcase initiatives and create opportunities for startups, scientists, and researchers to connect with major investors. The forum offers a platform for innovative thinkers to network and explore investment avenues, paving the way to turn groundbreaking ideas into reality
