RIYADH — Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref emphasized that improved relationship with Saudi Arabia is important and necessary for the people of the two countries and the region as well. "Strengthening these relations is irreversible," he said while speaking to reporters on Tuesday. Aref attended the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh on Monday.

"We appreciate Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the Israeli attack on Iran. Deepening relations with the Kingdom will include regional cooperation," he said.

Aref met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Monday. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of topics of common interest. Aref appreciated the Saudi positions towards Gaza and Iran.
