Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH The Saudi Music Commission has launched “MusicAI,” an interactive digital platform to learn and teach music. It is the first innovative global digital platform of its kind, offering interactive music programs for teaching how to play Arabic and Western musical instruments.

It targets students from all over Saudi Arabia and the world, as well as creative musicians and professionals specialized in the music industry, and also provides opportunities to learn music for everyone, the commission said in a statement.

The programs and training courses available on MusicAI rely on the integration of direct education and self-learning, where students can communicate directly with trainers, or learn on their own and at their own pace. The platform features easy access to courses and obtaining information about any course; anytime and anywhere, with the ability to use video streaming technologies and obtain accredited certificates.

The training on the platform goes through two main tracks: the first track is concerned with creative musicians, and includes training on Arab and Western musical instruments, while the second track is concerned with professionals specialized in the music industry, as this track offers music production courses and related work, by expert trainers.

The Music Commission aims, through launching the platform, to provide an innovative and unique way to learn music. It also seeks to educate local and regional students about various types of musical instruments, and provide best practices in the fields of music production, in addition to enriching the music learning process in the Kingdom, making it available to everyone at the local and global levels. It also provides advanced music courses and improves the general level of musicians and professionals specialized in the music industry in the Kingdom according to the highest international standards.

The launch of the platform comes as part of the commission’s efforts to discover and develop musical talents in the Kingdom, spread awareness of music culture, develop the Kingdom’s musical cultural identity, and spread it regionally and globally. This is also part of the musical cultural awareness among the requirements of quality of life, which is one of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
