BEIRUT — Israeli drones targeted paramedics in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon on Saturday, killing two and injuring four others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The ministry reported that the first strike occurred as a rescue team was heading to Ain Baal to carry out emergency operations.

A second drone strike hit another rescue team that rushed to assist the injured, resulting in casualties among both groups.

“An Israeli drone targeted a rescue team on Saturday as they were heading to the town of Ain Baal in the Tyre district to carry out their emergency work,” the ministry said.

“When a second rescue team rushed to assist the injured from the first team, it too was targeted by an Israeli drone, resulting in two martyrs and four injuries from both teams.”

The ministry called on the international community to take “a firm stance against the Israeli army's violation of international laws and its disregard for any deterrent measures.”

The incident is part of ongoing cross-border warfare between Israel and Lebanon, with Israel intensifying its air campaign since late September, citing Hezbollah targets.

According to Lebanese health authorities, Israeli attacks have claimed over 3,600 lives, injured more than 15,300 people, and displaced over 1 million since October last year. The conflict escalated further on October 1 when Israel launched a ground offensive into southern Lebanon. — Agencies
