Six Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on central Gaza

November 24, 2024

GAZA CITY — At least six Palestinians, including two children, were killed on Sunday in fresh Israeli airstrikes in the central Gaza Strip, a medical source reported.

Israeli fighter jets targeted a house in the Bureij refugee camp, killing four people, the source said.

In a separate attack, two children lost their lives, and several others were injured when a tent in the Maghazi refugee camp was struck.

Artillery shelling was also reported in the Nuseirat refugee camp, though details about casualties or injuries remain unconfirmed.

Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, which began after a Hamas attack last year, has killed over 44,000 people, most of them women and children, and injured more than 104,000, according to local health officials.

International condemnation of the conflict has grown, with global figures and institutions accusing Israel of deliberately targeting civilians and obstructing humanitarian aid.

On Thursday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces genocide charges at the International Court of Justice related to its military operations in the region. — Agencies
