RIYADH — The Riyadh Metro project is set to officially commence operations on December 1, 2024.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has announced the phased launch of the Riyadh Metro to ensure a seamless and efficient commuting experience for users.
The first phase of operations will begin on December 1, 2024, with the opening of the Yellow Line, which serves the King Khalid International Airport Corridor, the Blue Line, connecting Olaya Street to Batha, and the Purple Line, connecting Abdulrahman bin Auf Road to Sheikh Hassan Bin Hussein Road.
Shortly after, on December 15, the Green Line along King Abdulaziz Road and the Red Line along King Abdullah Road will start operating.
By January 5, 2025, the Orange Line, serving Madinah Road Corridor will be operational.
With a total network spanning 176 kilometers and featuring 85 stations, including key hubs, the Riyadh Metro is set to revolutionize public transportation in the capital. It promises to deliver advanced mobility solutions while enhancing connectivity across the city.
