Dar Al-Hekma University wins Guinness World Records for second time in a row for organizing largest disability awareness lesson

Dar Al-Hekma University has won the Guinness World Records for the second time in a row through organizing the largest disability awareness lesson coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event, held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Prince Sultan Hall on the university campus, witnessed a large attendance of 1,177 individuals.​

The event highlighted issues concerning individuals with special needs, shedding light on the challenges and difficulties they face on both social and personal levels. It aimed to raise community awareness, support this segment in overcoming obstacles, and empower them to achieve full integration into society, thus enabling them to contribute effectively and with high quality. ​

The Jeddah-based university also hosted several students from various schools as part of its mission to serve the community, as well as to raise awareness of the challenges facing this group on both social and personal levels, and promote their effective integration into society. The participation of these schools played a key role in achieving the event’s goals and highlighting its importance.​

Commenting on the event, President of Dar Al-Hekma University Dr. Abeer Al doghaither said: ​

“Organizing this event aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance the capabilities of individuals with disabilities and educate society on the importance of integrating them into the labor market and improving the services provided to them.



This initiative, and its success in setting a world record, embodies one of the core values of Dar Al-Hekma University: its academic and cultural commitment to all segments of society, including people with special needs. It underscores the importance of developing their skills and raising awareness about their potential. Practical experience has proven their success in contributing to society, each in their respective fields.”
