RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot. During the call, they discussed regional developments and issues of common interest.

In a related development, the French Foreign Ministry stated that Saudi Arabia is an important regional player in the region. The ministry underlined the need to stop Israel's unjustified attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The UNIFIL was created by the UN Security Council to confirm Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, restore international peace and security and assist the Lebanese government in restoring its effective authority in the area.
