NEW YORK — Saudi Arabia's representative to the donor group King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi reaffirmed the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts.

Addressing the high-level meeting of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in New York on Friday, he highlighted the Kingdom’s leading role as one of the largest international donors. The OCHA donor support group meeting, chaired by Norway, was attended by Al-Ghamdi and his accompanying delegation, as well as representatives from donor countries and international organizations.

He emphasized the Kingdom's strong support for the use of modern technology in humanitarian work to improve efficiency and reach the most vulnerable, especially in areas affected by complex crises in conflict zones. Al-Ghamdi also highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to providing ongoing support to OCHA operations, emphasizing the importance of unrestricted funding for prompt and effective responses.

He stressed that the Kingdom places inclusivity at the forefront of its humanitarian response, showcasing the efforts of KSrelief to support women, children, and persons with disabilities. Al-Ghamdi underscored the significance of designing humanitarian programs that are inclusive and responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable.
