ALULA — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Iraq Mohammed Shia al-Sudani at the winter camp in Al-Ula on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. The latest developments in the region also figured in their talks, according to a statement from the Iraqi prime minister's media office. They underscored the importance of agreeing on joint coordination regarding the repercussions of the events in Syria, and intensifying efforts to confront regional and international challenges, in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability of the entire region.

They reviewed the tragic situation in Gaza and the continued aggression of the occupying entity against the Palestinians. The leaders highlighted the importance of intensifying international efforts to immediately stop the war, and double relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza, as well as emphasizing the consolidation of the ceasefire in Lebanon, and making efforts to adhere to what was agreed upon.

Al-Sudani stressed Iraq's keenness on the unity of Syrian territory and non-interference in Syria's internal affairs, respecting the free will of the Syrians, and ensuring the participation of all components of the Syrian people in managing the country. The prime minister expressed Iraq's readiness to cooperate with friends in the region, in order to establish security and stability, and keep the region away from the danger of conflicts and wars.

The meeting was attended by Emir of Madinah Prince Salman bin Sultan and Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban.
