JEDDAH — Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesperson of the National Center of Meteorology, announced that the waterspout witnessed in Rabigh on Monday caused by rainy weather conditions, is the strongest recorded of its kind.

Al-Qahtani highlighted that the Rabigh waterspout reached the shoreline for the first time, contributing to rising waves. He further stated that the center's research and development department will conduct a thorough study of this unique phenomenon.

The National Center for Meteorology previously forecasted that most regions of the Kingdom would experience varying intensities of rainfall, ranging from moderate to heavy. The rainy conditions, which began on Sunday, are expected to continue until Wednesday, accompanied by downdrafts causing dust storms with wind speeds of up to 60 km/h.
