DAMASCUS —
The leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, received Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan at the People’s Palace in Damascus on Thursday.

At the start of the meeting, Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to Al-Sharaa and the Syrian people. In turn, Al-Sharaa extended his greetings and well wishes to the Kingdom’s leadership.

The discussions focused on exploring ways to support Syria's security, stability, and unity.

The two sides also discussed efforts to advance political, humanitarian, and economic support for Syria, including initiatives to lift sanctions imposed on the country.

They emphasized the importance of providing all forms of assistance to help Syria navigate this critical phase and restore stability across its territories, ensuring the revival of national institutions in alignment with the aspirations of the Syrian people.
