RIYADH — Dr. Abdulelah Al-Tokhais presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to the UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay at the organization's headquarters in Paris.

During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between UNESCO and Saudi Arabia in light of the Kingdom's great support to the organization. This is through the Saudi contribution to many projects and programs through its membership in the UNESCO's Executive Council, as well as its membership in the World Heritage Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al-Tokhais stressed the importance of further enhancing cooperation with UNESCO in all fields and strengthening its relations with member states so as to consolidate peace and coexistence between peoples and cultures in accordance with UNESCO's mandate.

Dr. Al-Tokhais, who holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Florida, has extensive expertise at both the national and international levels. His areas of specialization include natural and cultural heritage, planning, policies and legislation, tourism and development, in addition to his vast experience in working with international organizations across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
