RIYADH —The Saudi Film Commission has announced that it joined the Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet), a non-profit organization founded in 2004 that groups more than 50 relevant bodies and organizations from 19 countries and regions across Asia.

This step will enhance cooperation with other film bodies, which will be reflected in building strategic partnerships that achieve a rich exchange of knowledge and expertise.

The Commission’s joining of the network comes as part of its efforts to develop the Kingdom's film industry by supporting local and regional film projects, encouraging joint production, and promoting Saudi culture globally.

The Film Commission previously announced that it had joined the Association of International Film Commissions (AFCI), a global network of more than 360 film commissions from 40 countries. The move aims to support, empower, and exchange knowledge between film commissions worldwide, contributing to the development of the global film industry in a sustainable and balanced manner and enhancing opportunities for cooperation.

The Commission is continuing its work to expand opportunities available to local filmmakers and creators by providing new platforms for screening cinematic works, supporting distribution, promoting filming locations, and activating incentive programs with the aim of pushing the Saudi film industry to broader horizons.
