RIYADH —
The Saudi Museum Authority has announced preparations for the launch of the "Art of the Kingdom" exhibition in its second edition in Riyadh, following the success of its first international stop in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The exhibition will be hosted at the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX beginning February 24, 2025.

As the first traveling exhibition of contemporary Saudi art, "Art of the Kingdom" showcases a diverse collection of works, including paintings, installations, sculptures, and video art by 17 prominent Saudi artists.

The exhibition explores Saudi Arabia’s history, cultural memory, and heritage from a contemporary perspective, contributing to the creation of new cultural narratives.

The decision to bring the exhibition to Riyadh follows its successful debut at the Imperial Palace in Rio de Janeiro, where it was launched in conjunction with the G20 Summit and attracted 26,000 visitors over two months.

The Riyadh edition of "Art of the Kingdom" will feature additional artworks that were not part of the inaugural exhibition. These exclusive pieces have been specially designed and produced for the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX.

Participating artists include Muhannad Shono, Lina Qazzaz, Manal Al Dowayan, Ahmed Zeidani, Moath Al Oufi, Ahmed Mater, Ahed Al Amoudi, Shadia Alem, Faisal Samra, Ayman Yidiban, Dania Saleh, Fawlah Nazer, Sara Ibrahim, Ahmed Angawi, Nasser Al Salem, Basma Felmban, and Fatima Abdulhadi. The exhibition will run from February 24 to April 24, 2025, with tickets to be available soon via the WeBook platform.

Following its Riyadh showcase, the exhibition will travel to China, where it will be presented at the National Museum of China in Beijing as part of celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and China.
