BRUSSELS —
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) participated in the fifth meeting of senior humanitarian officials on Ukraine, held on January 28, 2025, at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels.

The center was represented by Dr. Hana Omar, Advisor to the General Supervisor and Director of the Partnerships and International Relations Department.

During the meeting, Dr. Omar took part in a session titled “Sustainability of Humanitarian Financing in 2025,” where she highlighted Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts through KSrelief.

She outlined Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, including two agreements with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) valued at $10 million.

Dr. Omar also noted that Saudi Arabia has provided a total humanitarian aid package of $400 million to Ukraine. This includes $100 million in direct humanitarian assistance through KSrelief and $300 million in oil derivatives, provided as a grant through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).

Saudi Arabia’s participation in the meeting reaffirms its commitment to humanitarian relief efforts and international cooperation, aligning with global principles of humanitarian work and sustainable development.

Discussions at the meeting centered on urgent humanitarian needs in Ukraine, the importance of localizing aid efforts, and the challenges of delivering assistance amid rising demands.
