RIYADH — The Saudi Sherpa Office at the Ministry of Finance organized its first G20 workshop on Monday under the title "Saudi Arabia’s Participation in the G20 Under South Africa’s 2025 Presidency."
The workshop was chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance and Saudi Sherpa, Abdulmohsen Al-Khalaf, with the participation of heads and members of the Saudi delegation attending this year’s G20 meetings.
During the session, the Sherpa Office reviewed South Africa’s G20 presidency priorities, expected outcomes, and strategies for aligning governmental efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia’s role in the group.
The discussions also focused on supporting South Africa in achieving key economic outcomes and preparing for the G20 Leaders' Summit, scheduled to be held in Johannesburg on November 22-23, 2025.
Attendees explored Saudi Arabia’s national priorities within the G20 framework while also reviewing past achievements to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration.
Al-Khalaf emphasized the Kingdom’s leadership role in advancing the G20’s objectives and reinforcing international cooperation under South Africa’s presidency.
