TOKYO — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi co-chaired the second Strategic Dialogue Meeting between Saudi Arabia and Japan in Tokyo on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prince Faisal emphasized that the 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Japan reflect the enduring partnership and shared values between the two nations.

He expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral ties and underscored the importance of the strategic dialogue in achieving tangible results for both countries.

The meeting reaffirmed the deep-rooted Saudi-Japanese relations and the need for continued cooperation across various fields.

During the meeting, two memoranda of understanding were signed: one to establish strategic partnership council between Saudi Arabia and Japan, and the other to exempt holders of diplomatic and special passports from short-term visit visas.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Japan Dr. Ghazi bin Faisal, Director General of the General Administration for Asian Countries Nasser Al-Ghanem and Assistant Director General of the Office of the Foreign Minister Walid Al-Samaeel.
