RIYADH — Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif inaugurated the Azm Center for Psychological and Social Empowerment in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The center operates under the General Directorate of Medical Services' City Medical Operation Program in collaboration with the Quality of Life Program, one of the key initiatives under Saudi Vision 2030.

During the inauguration, Prince Abdulaziz received a detailed briefing from Dr. Saleh Al-Mohsen, General Supervisor of the General Directorate of Medical Services and the Security Forces Hospital Program, on the center’s key services. These include mental health assessments, periodic follow-ups, psychotherapy sessions, family medicine services, social support, therapeutic nutrition, psychological rehabilitation, and occupational therapy, which incorporates art and music therapy. Additional services include dental care, pharmaceutical consultations, and laboratory diagnostics.

The minister also viewed a presentation on the center’s operational framework, which integrates best global practices in mental health care through a partnership with McLean Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. McLean Hospital is internationally recognized as a leader in psychiatric rehabilitation and mental health services.

Additionally, the presentation highlighted artificial intelligence applications in medical services and the center’s achievements in 2024, as well as its objectives and projects for 2025.

The Azm Center is part of ongoing developmental projects aimed at enhancing quality of life and mental health services across all medical facilities under the General Directorate of Medical Services.
