Israeli army withdraws from Netzarim Corridor as part of ceasefire deal with Hamas

February 09, 2025

GAZA CITY — The Israeli army has begun withdrawing from the Netzarim Corridor in the Gaza Strip as part of a ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian group Hamas, Israel's public broadcaster KAN reported on Sunday.

The withdrawal is expected to be completed by the end of the day, according to the report.

The Netzarim Corridor was established by the Israeli military to divide the Gaza Strip into northern and southern sections and to prevent displaced Palestinians from returning to their homes.

This development follows the latest prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, with three Israeli captives released on Saturday in return for 183 Palestinian prisoners. — Agencies
